João Cavalcanti, charismatic singer of the group Casuarina, puts aside the collective adventure to develop his solo career. With the pianist and accordionist Marcelo Caldi, he produced a singular project and presented the album "Garimpo". This duo  de virtuoses offers an intimate set built almost entirely around original compositions and others written by João Cavalcanti for other artists such as Lenine, Roberta Sa, Pedro Luis or Zé Renato.

Marcelo Caldi, composer and arranger, virtuoso pianist and accordionist, is one of the most brilliant musicians of his generation, sideman of Gilberto Gil, Hamilton of Holanda, etc ... He has developed his own language, synthesizing influences as diverse as the classical piano, the nordestin accordion, the tango of Piazzolla, the jazzy chorro of Sivuca and Dominguinhos among others.

The album "Garimpo" which counts with the special participation of António Zambujo,  released in Brazil  (Som Livre) in June 2018.
