Virgínia Rodrigues
Afro-Brazilian diva Virgínia Rodrigues is back with her new album "Cada voz é uma mulher" (Every voice is a woman), in which the singer weaves dialogues between Portuguese-speaking countries such as Brazil, Portugal, Cape Town. Green, Mozambique and Angola.
The album was produced by Leonardo Mendes and Tiganá Santana. The compositions were created by Sara Tavares, Mayra Andrade, Aline Frazão, Lena Bahule and Luedji Luna, among others. These Portuguese-speaking women are intimately linked to their shared musical ancestrality.
Virgínia Rodrigues ignores hierarchies by moving between popular and classical music. His heavenly voice is accompanied by bass by João Taubkin, percussion by Cauê Silva, guitar by Leonardo Mendes and clarinets by Joana Queiroz.
